W dzisiejszym wpisie omówimy sobie sposób konfiguracji menedżera plików Total Commander w taki sposób, aby był on jak najbardziej przyjazny osobie niewidomej. Pomimo, że trial jest w pełni funkcjonalne to okienko, które pojawia się przy każdym uruchomieniu sprawia, że dość mocno spada responsywność aplikacji. Zatem do dzieła!
1. Niechaj Total Commander czyta zaznaczenia na plikach
Wielu niewidomych użytkowników już na samym początku swojej przygody z TCMD natrafian a problem, gdzie stan zaznaczenia pliku lub katalogu nie jest odczytywany. Ów problem dotyczy użytkowników programu odczytu ekranu Non-Visual Desktop Access. Jednakże, naprawa tego problemu nie jest trudna. Najpierw musimy otworzyć program Total Commander. Gdy już znajdujemy się w jego głównym oknie, naciskamy strzałkę w prawo i wpisujemy następujący tekst:

i potwierdzamy enterem. Tuż pod linijką „[Configuration]” dodajemy następujący tekst:

Zapisujemy plik i restartujemy TCMD. Teraz, jeżeli oznaczymy jakiś plik przed jego nazwą pojawi się symbol * (Gwiazdka). Oczywiście, zamiast symbolu gwiazdki możemy wpisać jakikolwiek ciąg znaków nie przekraczający siedmiu znaków, na przykład „zazn”.
2. A po cholerę niewidomemu splash screen?
Kto mnie zna ten wie, że program musi działać jak najszybciej, i nigdy nie pozwoliłbym sobie na ominięcie czy przeoczenie czegokolwiek, co wpłynęłoby pozytywnie na responsywność. Jedną z takich rzeczy jest na pewno ekran startowy TCMD, wyświetlający jakąś animację czy logo na starcie. Nie widzę potrzeby ani przydatności tego rozwiązania nawet dla osoby widzącej (no może to ja jestem głupi), toteż zaraz się go pozbędziemy. ABy tego dokonać najpierw musimy otworzyć plik wincmd.ini. Robiliśmy to już wcześniej. W głównym oknie Total Commandera najpierw wciskamy strzałkę w prawo, a potem wpisujemy:

Pod linijką „[Configuration]” dopisujemy natomiast następującą linię:
StartScreen=0
Oczywiście restartujemy TC i odnotowujemy znaczne przyspieszenie następnego uruchomienia.
3. Minimalizacja zamiast zamykania
Menedżer plików to program, który towarzyszy nam na co dzień. Z tego względu fajnie byłoby, gdybyśmy mogli go mieć cały czas pod ręką, bez zbędnego zamykania a potem otwierania go. Total Commander oczywiście posiada taką możliwość. Można ją włączyć z poziomu GUI, ale przyznam się bez bicia że nie pamiętam, gdzie to się robiło. Toteż uciekniemy się do starego, dobrego pliku wincmd.ini. Otwieramy go sposobem podanym w poprzednich paragrafach i pod „[Configuration]” dopisujemy:
MinimizeOnClose=7
Restartujemy TC i gotowe! Opcja ta sprawi, że domyślny skrót ALT+F4 będzie minimalizował program, zamiast go zamykać. W celu pełnego zamknięcia programu będziemy od teraz korzystać z odpowiedniej opcji menu.
4. (Opcjonalne). Zezwolenie na uruchamianie tylko jednej instancji programu
Spotkałem się z głosami, że TC nie nadaje się do pracy na wielu plikach. Oj, nadaje się do tego stopnia, że wystarczy tylko jedna instancja programu na naszym komputerze aby wszystko przebiegało sprawnie i pomyślnie. Domyślnie TC można uruchamiać nieskończenie wielką liczbę razy, co mnie osobiście strasznie irytuję. Jeżeli wy też macie podobne odczucia, zapraszam do pliku wincmd.ini. Gdy już zostanie on otwarty w wiadomym miejscu dopiszcie następującą linię:
OnlyOnce=1
Dzięki temu otwarcie programu Total Commander zawsze będzie skutkowało przywróceniem istniejącej już instancji, co zaoszczędzi nam bólu głowy i innych dolegliwości związanych z bórdelem na pasku zadań.
5. Opcjonalne. A, oczywiście podmiana TC na explorera
Jeżeli też macie dosyć domyślnego, wbudowanego w Windowsa eksploratora plików zapraszam do skorzystania z poniższych skryptów. Są one przystosowane do używania na 64-bitowych systemach operacyjnych, jak i do domyślnego katalogu instalacyjnego Total Commandera w wersji 10. Jeżeli z jakichś przyczyn zainstalowaliście program w innym katalogu, to musicie go podmienić w skrypcie. Jak na razie jedynym sposobem cofnięcia tych zmian jest przywrócenie punktu przywracania systemu, toteż zalecam go utworzyć przed eksperymentowaniem. Wszystkie potrzebne pliki można pobrać stąd.
Podsumowanie
Oczywiście Total Commander to ogromny program, i ten śmieszny tekścik nawet nie zaczyna poruszać samego wierzchołka góry lodowej jego możliwości i funkcji. Niemniej jednak zdecydowanie pomoże on rozpocząć pracę z TCMD ludziom, którzy nigdy wcześniej nie mięli z tą aplikacją do czynienia. Total COmmanderowi zamierzam poświęcić dość wiele uwagi na tym blogu, wiec jeżeli macie jakieś pytania, sugestie czy prośby niezmiennie zapraszam do kontaktu.

@ Papierek, jeśli używasz NVDA to jest dodatek Total Commander enhanced, on czyta tytuły zakładek. Niestety, dubluje też funkcję z najnowszego tc, tj. oznajmianie o lewym / prawym panelu, więc trzeba to sobie przeedytować.
